We have noticed that students using email addresses from certain institutions (such as @asu.edu and @edu.unifil.br) experience significant delays in receiving their free student license emails.
Our system automatically sends the license email immediately after the request form is submitted. Therefore, it is highly likely that these delays are caused by security filters on your institution’s email servers rather than our delivery system.
If you do not receive your license email right away, please search your spam/junk folder using the details below or contact your institution’s IT department to release the email:

Students who have an academic email address are eligible to receive a FREE license for Astah UML.
- This is for a single student’s personal use only.
- Instructors and teachers cannot use this student license.
- Instructors and teachers should purchase an academic license.
We no longer accept applications with attachment files. This change had to be made due to a high number of dishonest applications. Please ask your teacher to purchase a site-wide license.

How do I renew my Free Student License?
Please simply submit from the form above again.
We issue a free student license which runs by the end of August every year. We usually update this in July. -
Can I use a student license on multiple machines?
Yes as long as you are the only person who uses the license.
Download and install Astah UML in another machine and set up the free student license file (.xml) you already have. -
Can I let my students use Free Student License in my class?
No. Astah Student License is limited to a student’s personal use. They cannot be installed on shared machines in classrooms or labs.
To use Astah in classrooms, you need to purchase Astah Faculty Site License.

Can lectures and professors use this license?
No.
Lectures and professors need to purchase Astah UML license or a discounted academic licenses.

Can Free student license users get support?
No.
As noted in EULA [Article 7 – Special Agreement], we do not provide support service to students with Free Student Licenses. When any error happens, please look for solutions on Bug Info page.
If you couldn’t find any related information, please send us a report with the following information to support@astah.net. But we do not guarantee that we will provide the solutions.
