Advancing Mission Engineering and Digital Engineering in Japan: Current Status and Lessons Learned
The ChangeVision Sponsors Track features Dr. Kei Ota, Founder & CEO of AL-GRID Enterprise Architects LLC and an advisor to ChangeVision.
In this presentation, Dr. Ota will draw on his experience as a systems engineer—gained through decades of research and development on complex defense systems—to share his approach to introducing ME/DE, the key lessons learned, and how he has leveraged Change Vision’s products throughout this process.
Specifically, he will analyze, from his own perspective, the rapidly accelerating adoption of ME/DE within the US Department of Defense. Building on this analysis, he will describe the trials he conducted at the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) of Japan’s Ministry of Defense (MOD) to integrate descriptive and analytical models for ME/DE implementation, as well as his efforts to ensure coherent alignment between ME and DE. He will conclude by presenting key insights from this work and several recommendations for the way forward.
