Import ER from Excel
Import ER models from Excel to Astah all at once.
How to Install
- Download the Plug-in file.
- After the download is complete, drag the downloaded .jar file to an open instance of Astah. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm installation, choose [Yes]. If the pop-up below opens, restart Astah.
- If you see the [Import ER Domain/models from Excel] option under [Tools] – [ER Diagram], your installation is complete!
Import ER Domains from Excel
- Go to [Tools] – [ER Diagram] – [Import ER Domain from Excel].
※The supported format is the Entity Definition Report exported by Astah (from [Tools] – [ER Diagram] – [Export Entity Definition Report] or sample template. If you customize the format, you will need to specify the rows and columns to import items accordingly.
Import Entities and Attributes from Excel
- Go to [Tools] – [ER Diagram] – [Import ER models from Excel].
- A dialog box appears.
- Select the file you want to import and then click [Import].
※The supported format is the Entity Definition Report exported by Astah (From [Tools] – [ER Diagram] – [Export Entity Definition Report] or sample template). - By default, it imports as a logical name. If you’d like to import both logical and physical names, choose the second option and specify the row and column.
- When the import completes successfully, a confirmation dialog opens. Click [OK].
- To create an ER diagram with imported models, select a ER Model in the structure tree and click [Auto Create ER Diagram].
