How to Save an Obfuscated Project for Bug Reports

If the log file does not contain enough information to find the cause of a bug, Astah Support may ask you to send your .asta file with your bug report.

If the .asta file contains confidential information, you can obfuscate it so that all model names are replaced with meaningless characters and numbers.

  1. Open your .asta file.
  2. Go to [Tools] – [XML Input & Output] – [Save as Obfuscated XML Project [For Bug Report]].

  3. A dialog box appears. Click [Yes] to proceed.

  4. Save the obfuscated project file (.xml) and send it to Astah Support.

The obfuscated file is saved in Astah’s XML project format (.xml), not XMI. It is used only for bug reports.

Check the Obfuscated Project

  1. To see how the obfuscated project looks, go to [Tools] – [XML Input & Output] – [Open XML Project] and open the saved .xml file.
